Assistant Manager — Audit — Energy, Infrastructure and Utilities — London
Description
We are looking for Assistant Managers to join our audit practice based in our Energy, Infrastructure and Utilities ("EIU") office/group.                      
 
We provide clients with professional advice and assurance on their controls and accounting systems all year round. We understand our clients' operations, their industry and the issues they face, and this enables us to provide them with relevant advice.   The combination of our specialist skills, industry expertise and ongoing investment allows us to anticipate complex business problems for our clients and recommend preventative action. Our computerised audit approach and investment in technology enables us to deliver seamless global accounting and auditing services.
 
Role description:
Reporting to either a Senior Manager or direct to a Partner, you will be responsible for the management of the audit of key sections or business units of the EIU groups clients. This will involve audit planning, day to day management of field teams including review of audit work, liaison with key client staff and the management of the reporting process.
The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to become involved in a range of advisory assignments currently provided by the EIU office group including transaction advisory support, IFRS implementation advice and other technical advice. You will also be expected to assist with the technical and business development initiatives within the team.
 
Further responsibilities include:
- Ensuring completion of audits/projects within agreed timescales
- Budgeting time allocation to assignments and explaining variances from budget
- Participation in due diligence or other transaction support engagements
- Drafting accounts in accordance with UK GAAP/IAS
 
To be considered you would ideally have/be:
 
Experience/Qualifications:
·         ACA/ACCA or equivalent (preferably first time passes).
·         Experience of IAS / UK GAAP conversions and regulations would be advantageous but is not essential.
·         Impressive analytical capabilities.
·         Highly motivated and committed.
·         Positive and ambitious attitude.
·         Up to date on current economic and market trends.
·         Ability to develop strong client relationships .
·         Highly proficient in written and oral communication.
·         Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
·         Project management capabilities.
·         Aptitude / familiarity with MS Word, Excel and Project.
